Here are some tips to assist you in using your Internet Explorer and Outlook Express to your advantage.

Quick Access

 

For quick access to the web, click the Start button, then Run, type in the URL (example: www.saweb.co.za) then OK

Empty Files
 

Want to run a clean temporary Internet files folder? In the Internet Explorer click on Tools, Internet Options and select the Advanced tab. Go down to the Security section and select Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser is Closed

Starting Page

 

Tired of viewing the same initial page every time you start the Internet? Change it by clicking on Tools in your Internet Explorer browser, then select Internet Options then change the Home Page Address (example, change to: http://www.saweb.co.za)

Full Screen
 

To quickly have a full screen view of a web page, simply hit the F11 key

Zoom

 

If you have a wheel on your mouse you can use it to zoom the web page you are viewing. Simply hold the Ctrl key while turning your mouse wheel, you can zoom in and out

Radio
 

Remember that you have access to radio in your Internet Explorer. When on line, click on Radio (top toolbar) and then select Radio Guide

E-mail Security

 

To protect your computer from potential virus, on your Outlook Express select tools, then Options, then Security and tick the Do Not Allow Attachments to be Saved or Opened that Could Potentially be a Virus

Address Book
 

Keep a copy of your Address Book. In your Outlook Express click on File, then Export and select Address Book

Who Sent it?

 

For complete details on who sent you an e-mail, open the message, click on File, then Properties then click the Details tab

Watch TV
 

You can watch TV on-line via your Windows Media Player. Go to www.wwitv.com and try it out
