001 Windows Explorer

The quickest way to go to the Windows Explorer file manager is to right-click the Start button the select Explore
|
002 Folder Colour
|
If you are tired of the yellow folders in your Windows explorer file manager, select View and then Customize This Folder. Chose your own image
|
003 Bypass Bin
|
If you wish to delete files without having them go to the Recycle Bin first, make sure you hold down the Shift key while you press Delete
|
004 Undo Mistake
|
If you for instance drag and drop or delete by mistake, you can rectify by clicking on Edit and then Undo Move
|
005 Display User

If you quickly want to display the current user's folders, click the Start button then Run, type in a full stop (.) then OK

006 Desktop Folder

Did you know that the Desktop is in fact a folder? You can find it at c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop

|
To view everything that is on your desktop at any given time, right-click the taskbar and chose Tile Windows Horizontally or Vertically. Use Undo . . . to return to normal (default is Cascade)

If you change your mind in the middle of a drag and drop, just hit the Esc key

If you drag a file or folder using the right button instead of the left one, you will be presented with a menu to chose from Copy, Move or Create Shortcut
