Mining and Agriculture are the North West Province's main money generators. Platinum (about 95% of the country's production) and granite are its main mining products. Maize, tobacco, sunflower and cotton are the major farming products.

Gambling generate a good income for the province and it houses some of the best casinos in the world such as the well known Sun City and Lost City.
