PATCH AND VIRUS CLEANER FOR
THE W32 BLAST VIRUS

Are you having a problem with your Internet connection on your Windows XP? Are you receiving a "NT Authority System" message and your system shuts down in 60 seconds and reboots again? If so, the W32 Blaster Virus has creeped into your system. Microsoft provides a patch for this problem and there is also a virus cleaner (by Network Associates).

To remove the Blast Virus and apply the patch from Microsoft to prevent it from hapenning again, follow the instructions below carefully:

Step 1

  1. Download the .zip file - Click here to Download

If your Internet connection wants to disconnect due to the virus (you get the message that your computer will shut down in 60 seconds) - quickly do the following:
    • Click on the "Start" button, click on "Run", type in "shutdown /a" and OK. You will be given about 20 minutes to continue your download.

  2. Disconnet from the Internet

Step 2:
  1. Open the Blaster_Tools.zip file which you have just downloaded (double-click it)

  2. A Winzip window will appear - with two files listed.

  3. Double-click on “1 XP Patch.exe”

  4. When the installation window appears, click on Next.

  5. On the next screen, select “I agree” and click on Next.

  6. The patch will install.

  7. Once this complete, go back to the Winzip window.

  8. Double-click on the “2 Stinger.exe” file.

  9. When the Stinger windows opens, click on the Preferences button.

  10. Now, put a tick in the box for “Scan all files”

  11. Click OK

  12. Now, click on the “Scan Now” button

  13. Stinger will now be scanning your machine for the virus.

  14. Restart your computer.
